The question I wanted to ask to Mr. Salman Khursid

Mr. Salman Khursid, Union law minister was present as a guest in Al-Ameen educational society, Bangalore to attend a function on 26-December-2011. He spoke about 4.5 % reservation for minorities in government institutions.

As per supreme court directive, reservation for job, admission and membership (like in lokpal) can not be more than 50 %(rectify me if I am wrong). Depending on the percent of backward caste in a perticular religion, reservation has to be fixed. s per Mr. Khursid, the percent of Minorities in Indian population is 13 % and muslim comprises of 70 % among minorities. Considering the percent of backward caste in muslim population, the reservation for backward muslim is fixed to be 4.5. He advocated for similar reservation of minorities of other religion. The law minister told that voice of majority (religion, members in parliament)must be respected, but a Hindu should think about development of a Muslim and similarly,a muslim should think about development of other minor religious person. Mr. Khursid told that he got idea of reservation (for minorities) from Karnataka, where the reservation for minorities were implemented before 20 years.

The guest praised Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed, founder of Al-Ameen education society for opening educational institution (minority educational institution) for spreading education. He talked about importance of employing staff of majority community and enrolling students of majority community.

Then, the session was open for discussion.

Fist question was about governing different law colleges in India; second was about introducing law related course / subject (thus increasing awareness about law)in schools; Third question was why reservation for minorities can not be more than 10 percent? All the questions were answered to the satisfaction of questioner. While answering third question, the guest told as per current population of minorities the reservation is not possible. For reservation, a new law has to be passed by
parliament and support of BJP is required, which he thought impossible as of now. In the same contest he told that if Anna Hazare want to implement anything then, he has to get elected to parliament and by majority voting he has to pass desired lokpal law (version of Anna Hazare).

My question to Mr. Khursid was: "Does the member of parliament / MP (supporting government version of lokpal bill) know what people of his constituent want regarding lokpal bill? Did they talk to people? What the people are telling and what the elected members of parliament are going to do?" Answer of guest was, "I dont know about other MP, but I am very conscious about peoples sentiment. If you as a pharmacist loose job you can get anther job, but we parliamentarian loose election we can't get job....And we (conscious MP)often face such difficult questions from such brilliant persons like you..."

After me few other persons asked Mr. Khursid more questions.

I wanted to ask questions like- why government wants control over Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI is very in-efficient in solving corruption cases involving very influential politician)? But, I could not ask it as the speaker had told to ask only relevant question. If I get another chance then I am going to ask his the question.

Five hours after completion of function, a known muslim person approached me and talked to me regarding my point of view about Jan lokpal bill and corruption. The gentleman told me that 4.5 % reservation for backward muslims is not going to help the needy and the advantages will be taken by capable well-off muslims. I did not comment any thing and slowly left.

Holiday with your anklet

Before holiday start,
you left,
our college to visit your village.

Days were long,
I could not hear your song,
Nights were boring,
I thought, when you are coming.

Days were hot,
that made me rot,
Nights were cool,
I missed you, fool!

You went so far,
riding a car,
never thought about me,
I always remembered you, ji.

I got your anklet,
under a booklet,
That made me happy,
because it was your copy.

It was of silver,
with beads of red color,
those were hung,
and so sweetly sung.

I enjoyed holiday,
day by day,
I did not miss you, you bet!
in the holiday, with your anklet.

Promise me...

Do not shed tear,
I can not bear,
the sadness of your heart,
it make me burst

When I see you laugh,
I also laugh,
The smile that you bear,
make me cheer.

promise me that you would try,
not to cry,
and you would be happy,
to keep me happy.

Life is small, keep smiling

Like many of my well wisher, Kajal told me that I am getting older and should get married soon. When I ask my well wishers to find a girl for me they do not raise that topic next time, but kajal was different. She informed that she find her cousin a good match for me and invited me to see her. Then, I could not tell her that I was joking. She knew that I was shy, then also how she could call me for seeing girl? I tried to avoid her, but could not do it for more time. To get some official work done by her, I finally agreed to see her sister Madhuri.

I did not get time for two get new cloth for me, but now it was necessary. I went to my favorite shop Indian Terrain show room at Secunderabad and got a light dark strip trouser and a blue shirt. Madhuri was from Pune and was visiting Hyderabad on last monday of October. Getting a leave on monday was difficult but I could manage to get half day leave.

I reached home of Kajal on time before lunch, talked with elders and met Madhuri. The beautiful lady was wearing a blue saree, gold ear ring, silver anklet, nail polish, lip stick and smile. All family members of Kajal gave credit of delicious biryani to Madhuri. After lunch I got an opportunity to talk with Madhuri. Actually I did not talk much except accepting what Madhuri was telling and nodding my head in between the talk.Madhuri wanted to be a school teacher but I wanted her to be manager of my imaginary pharma company. I did not remember much what Madhuri was telling as I was immersed in the beauty of Madhuri. All I remembered was "Life is small, keep smiling."

Parents of Madhuri had given her liberty to choose her life partner. I liked Madhuri and was convinced that she was also interested on me. I am a resident of Odisha and though it would be wonderful to marry a lady from Andhra Pradesh as I can get tasty sambar and mouth watering biryani etc.I started learning Telugu seriously to impress Madhuri.

I had to discuss about Madhuri with my family members. I went to Tensa, a beautiful hill station in Odisha where my family members were gathered for family function. My uncle had been staying there.

Apart from hill station, Tensa is known for surrounding iron ore mines. Peoples of all parts of India stays there. When I go there I see sun rise above hills far from Tensa high School and I enjoy sunset, while sitting on cement bench near Tensa guest house. The luxurious guest house is meant for government servants, mining officials and officers from Rourkela steel Plant. Sun set behind the queue of blue hills becomes hilarious with the smoke that rise from village on the foot of hills and ever changing color of clouds. When I can not go near guest house to get pleasing picture of sunset,I view it from balcony of our home. Weak ray of sun, when fall on light-red-black iron ore of half cut hill, turns sky into pink-red.Sound of stream;smell of ripe fruits from near by jungle; flying, colored birds and cool breeze brings a impression of heaven. I wonder, whether this natural beauty of Tensa is seen by the persons who coined the words like 'heaven on earth' and 'god's own country' for Kashmir and Kerala respectively and what words they would have framed for Tensa / Odisha.

After function, I discussed about the matter of Madhuri with my elders. While, some of them approved it, others did not approve it. I could not convince the dissidents.I informed Kajal about the issue. many years have passed since then but I did not forget the words of Madhuri "Life is small, keep smiling". I lost her, but I am still smiling.

Remember me

Remember me if you are sad, I would lend my shoulder; remember me if you are happy, I would cheer for you; remember me if you want to dance, I would shake my leg with you; remember me if you want to help, I would extend my helping hand; remember me if you want to scold, I would lend my ear; remember me if you want to love, I would love you.

Ten minutes at a traffic signal

I was in the midst of a traffic jam. Narrow road and growing population including that of vehicles are the reasons of this problem – always I consoled myself.

Some traffic signal in our country becomes a place of business when red light glows. You can get balloon, toy car, tissue paper, napkin, spectacle, magazine, news paper, mosquito killing racket etc. In hot city like Ahmedabad, one can get drinking water pouch also.

A Eunuch was asking money from others. (S)He had a wig on his / her head and dressed in sari. I was thinking why they dress up like women. Then my thought entered into the world of eunuch. They stay together away from society. The dislike society or society does not accept them? Why they can’t work like us? Why they depend on others for money? If some of them ask me for job, I will try to find a job for them. Lakshmanan told me a Chinese proverb – If you want to help some body then don’t give him fish, instead teach him how to catch a fish. They also can be found in trains (Indian railway). Once when one of the fellow passenger did not give money to one of ennuch, so (s)he offered to bare her / himself to offend the passenger. The best way to avoid such disaster in train is to feign as if you are sleeping. I came out from my thinking when the eunuch came to me. (S)he asked me money and I gave an one rupees coin. “Am I a begger?” (s)he asked me. ‘No.’ I replied. (S)he returned me the money and went away. I did not know how to respond. Whether I had to give 10 rupees note or I had to be happy for saving one rupees?

Then came a poor woman, her top was little open near belly. Swollen belly was giving an impression that she was pregnant. She could not work in this stage so she wanted money for living. Was she alone in this world and nobody to support her? Can I solve this purpose? Before I got answer from myself the poor woman went to others for asking money.

Traffic moved little and I could proceed 20 feet.
A boy was lying on the foot path, whose body was full of wounds and he was scratching the wounds. I felt pity and thought that I would admit him to the hospital and spend money for his treatment. I started talking to him, in the mean while his sister came near to me and told she cant allow his brother for going to hospital as she is looking after him. She told that with the money collected from traffic signal, she would cure his brother. I even knew that his brother-in-law was sitting on a wheel chair near that place. I felt pity on them.

I found a muslim couple on scooter. The girl was sitting on the back. She was wearing a black coloured burkha, scocks, and hand gloves covering whole body. As I was behind them, I did not know whether she was wearing black spectacles also. I believe Islamic teaching supports this kind of dress code. Few Bollywood, Tollywood and Hollywood muslim heroins are unfamous for their dress code. This culture is not bound to only to those muslim heroins. I believe money and urge to be famous compels few heroins to shed cloth. They tell script demands that. A heroin told she could not have done swimming pool scene with saree. Fine. But the message the film wanted to give was also possible without swimming pool scene. Even few heroes also told the same thing when asked about their nude scene. Everybody wants to justify a wrong deed. We have seen movie about prostitutes without even a single nude scene. We can give a message through movie without showing a nude scene.

I found a fair girl from foreign sitting in an auto rickshaw. They come to India for study, work and travel. I found a child beggar moving towards her and thought it is bad if she come to know about begging in India, so I called the child beggar, gave him a ten rupees note and asked to leave the place. Otherwise I would not have given any money, but the child did not listen to me and asked money to the foreigner. I was angry on the child and wanted to scold him, but to my astonishment she gave him a light blue color 100 rupees note. The child received that money, kept in the pocket and went to another person to beg. The child was not happy; I thought may be the little boy did not know the value to 100 rupees note.
Again traffic moved and I moved approximately 50 feet.

Life is like a road. Some time we go fast as we grow fast in life at some point of time. Some time we travel slowly as that of life. Some time we meet with accident and some other time we get bugged in traffic jam like different problems in life. The person in a car moves faster than a person with cycle. It resembles the business; the person having more money can grow faster than other. Movement in road is uncertain as that of life.

Engines of many vehicles were not switch off and fuel was being wasted, that were very precious to a country that is dependent on others for fuel. For few other vehicles emission levels were very high and the environment was very much polluted. In Hyderabad, I had seen in few cases that traffic police checking emission levels of vehicle but such thing did not happen in Bangalore. Government must act fast and furiously against those who pollute our environment.

I found a nude poster of an adult movie pasted on a wall. I am strongly against this. Any advertisement of adult movie should be pasted in a separate notice board of cinema hall that display those kind of movies not on walls near traffic signal or on news paper. I remember few advertisement of such adult movies on newspaper – “Watch the movie before it gets banned”, “Do you have guts to watch movie?”. Trailer of adult movies should only be shown on adult movies not during the show of U or U/A certified movies. I feel ashamed when I see trailer of an adult movie in between watching a U or U/A certified movies with my family members.

I planned few lines of a song as follows….
You help me, but do not seek my help,
You ask me to smile and do not see my tear,
You are like a goddess and I can’t understand your trick
These are few reasons why I love you…

Then I tried to find a new voice for it.

I started my vehicle and moved forward when green light started to glow.

Post paid problem

I was using SBI credit card for the first time and swiped my card at a petrol pump for 100 rupees. I dropped a cheque at SBI drop box before 2 days of last payment date. There was a holiday in between. I was charged 200 rupees fine for late payment. SBI credit card official told that it was not possible to encash money within such short span of time. Afterwards I submit cheque at least 7 working days before last payment date.

Four of us were enjoying our life at Shruthi Apartment, Miyapur, Hyderbad. I was using Airtel broadband service with land line phone (04040213565). Land line phone was provided by Airtel as a complement. While I was in Hyderabad, I created few blogs and started writing on it. Meanwhile I decided for moving to Bangalore. I informed Airtel to disconnect the broadband service before one day of billing date and next day I moved to Bangalore. I gave required fees to my room mate for paying Airtel. Next month bill was cleared, but following that month I again got a bill of Rs. 2500. I was surprised by this bill and had to pay the bill amount. The bill stated that phone was used after disconnection request also. I learnt that one of my room mate used the phone for 15 days after I left Hyderabad. I was thinking who is Guilty? Was I guilty for trusting my room mate? Was Airtel guily for not disconnecting the connection immediately? When Airtel could give a new connection within two days, then why the company could not disconnect a old connection within 2 days? Was my room mate guilty for thinking Airtel won't charge money after requesting for disconnection and wanted to take advantage of the situation?

KIRAN

I got down from Rajdhani express at Bangalore city railway station. I took my two luggages with me avoiding looking at coolie. After 5 minutes walk I reached at platform no 15 of Majestic bus terminal. I sat on a window site seat of bus number 356 to go Electonic city. After few minutes bus was almost full with few seats remaining.
When bus started moving slowly, a young lady of short stature entered the bus. She looked for any vacant seat and from three available options, she preferred to seat beside me. I was puzzled and looked above the window whether I sat on a seat "reserved for woman". I was lucky, the seat was not reserved for woman otherwise I had to stand.
The young and beautiful lady wore a blue jeans and light yellow color top. She was fair with long hair. She opened her hair and started to comb it. I feel uncomfortable with ladies. That time I felt more uncomfortable as a beautiful lady was sitting beside me and her hair was touching me! Voluntarily, I avoid sitting near girls in canteen, cinema hall, class room etc. But that day situation was different as that time all the seats of bus were occupied and many people were standing. I avoided standing in the bus as there were chances of pick pocket and there were news of growing number of mobile phone thieves. There was another problem! As`she was beautiful, I wanted to see her but I did not want to make her uneasy by staring at her. Fortunately I got a solution. I realized that I can see her through opaque glass of window. "What an intelligent I am?" I told to myself and started smiling with joy. That time she looked at me and I had to stop smiling to proof that I was innocent. It is always wrong when a young man smiles at a beautiful young woman! She started coloring her two lips with pink lipstick while looking at a small round mirror, then she painted her nail with nail polish of similar color. I observed that she was wearing similar color ear rings and a stol. "Why girls are particular about wearing matching combination?" I thought. May be that was secret about their beauty and I never wanted to tamper that secret by asking question related to this secret.

After completing beautifying her, the lady opened her vanity bag and took her phone and talked “Hi, Jyoti, I am Kiran speaking. Good morning. How are you? …I am fine. My project would be over within 1 months and then I can complete my M.Sc. I got selected by University of Singapore and Oxford university. … No, it is not for Ph.D.. I had applied for intellectual property right related courses. Every body asked me why I am nor applying for Ph.D. even if I am topper in M.Sc.? But, you know! I can’t work in wet lab and innovative ideas does not come to my mind so easily. I had applied for scholarship and if I get scholarship than I would join any one of the University. I do not want to take loan from bank and even banks are hesitating to grant loan because of recession. Who knows if I don’t get job, then how to repay 20 lakhs rupees? I had asked to all leading actor and actress through e-mail for helping me financially. ….Why they should not help? Can you realize how much money they have? Do you know what are the price of hand bag of Kiran Rao and watch of Shahrukh Khan?

I was partly happy knowing that I was sitting beside an intelligent girl and partly amused after listening to some of her funny talk.

Kiran spoke “Yes, I am still working with NGOs. Few days ago I had been to Delhi and saved some girl from the red light area. These girls were from poorer states of India. It is very difficult to find a good police officer among many corrupt. Here also in Bangalore I am working with an NGO that has taken up teaching of orphans and kids found at traffic signal. I have made friendship with kids found at traffic signal. They are very naughty and would prefer eating pani puri than bread”.

It seems Jyoti was listening carefully what Kiran was speaking, even I was interested to listen what Kiran was speaking.

Kiran continued “Now-a-days I am in Bangalore for my M.Sc. project. Life is little tough here. Room mates in PG are morons. They would come late from work and start gossiping till late night and that disturbs my study. One girl is suffering from cough and do not cover her face while coughing! I am so scared for swine flu. There are not enough swine flu screening hospitals and Tamiflu tablets are only available in government hospitals. Who will teach this girl courtesy? I feel like throwing her down from balcony or put her inside a barrel full of concentrated Sulfuric acid”.
I was little bit scared and thought a dangerous girl was sitting beside me.

After listening quietly what Jyoti was speaking over phone, Kiran started talking again. “Marriage? Why parent think girl is a burden for them? They married late but now putting pressure on me for marriage. What is my age? Only 22. Is it a problem to any body if I enjoy my life for some time? I want to earn and take my parent for a world tour. My mother is trying to find out a groom in every party that she is attending now-a-days. She got a IITian for me. She showed my photo to that boy and he is interested to marry me. What a shameless person? How he can decide to marry me without meeting and talking to me? Yesterday he called me and I told that I am not interested to marry now. He was asking me whether I am interested for friendship. Crab! Then my mother searched an IIM guy. Do you know? All of them are ugly!”

After some time, I could know that Ms. Kiran has a boy friend. May be for that reason some of the boys are shameless and others are ugly.

Kiran said bye to Jyoti because two persons started quarreling. One local, Kannada speaking person was arguing to a Hindi speaking person to speak in local language. Hate wave flowing in some part of India in the year 2009. In Mumbai, members of a local political party had attacked persons from UP and Bihar. Few youths had beaten up girls in a pub at Mangalore. Kiran interfered between the two persons and tried to convince that Hindi being national language can be spoken anywhere. The Kannada speaking person get down at one stop before electronic city. I did not know whether he was defeated so he left or he had some work there.

Kiran got down at Electronic city. Being sited on that seat I was recalling all incidents that happened within that last one hour when a fellow passenger shook me and reminded me to get down.

Jasmin of worth 100 crore

Summer is very hot in India when temperature can reach up to 48 degree centigrade, but the for the people Bangalore (Bengaluru) summer was not cruel. Green screen of old plant besides road and in the garden of people absorbed all cruelty of burning sun and provided cool shade for the people of garden city. Summer of 2014 is very hot, even in Bangalore. Rapid development that made Bangalore 4th populated city in India ate green plants and presented people with very hot summer. Still, Mr. Madhavan Gururaj did not feel the hot of summer. He was still busy enjoying his retired life at his 5 acre farm house in Jayanagar. The firm house was densely populated with plants: from fruit to flowering plants. Guava, jackfruit, and mango plant were present in the farm house. Among the flowering plants the farm house had rose, jasmin, hibiscus and many other plants, the name of those I do not know.

Mr. Gururaj retired from a responsible position in Reserve bank of India in January 2014 and was enjoying the summer. As a banker, he know how to save money and grow it safely. He had now responsibility to manage the money and property intelligently. Those who have very good bank balance can enjoy the retired life peacefully. He also had no liability like child's education and daughter's marriage. His only son Dravid Gururaj had completed study and was working as an investment banker in New York. Senoir Gururaj could get all work done from his home. Royal store delivered  required grocery and vegetables in home. He even ordered shoe, shirt, bag, bed cover online. Food items like Pizza, dosa and biryani also was deliver at home. Once in a while he went to Jayanagar 4th block to witness the development of the city. The could have enjoyed the retired life twice happier had his wife alive today. When he was working for bank, he was very busy and could not give time for his wife. Now, when he is available for full day, his wife is not there for gossiping and complaining.

Mr. Madhavan occasionally got call from young bankers for consultation otherwise he had no other work to do. The best way to keep himself happy was to think about his old golden days and love life. His marriage was inter-caste, it was very difficult before 30 years. He took 2 years to convince the girl and another 3 years to convince her family. He was ambitious and hard working therefore, he earned a lot. He liked her wife very much whose name was Mallige, the flower with sweet scent. If you are a botanist (study about plants) you may know it by name Jasminum gradiflorum L. If you are familiar with English you might have known it by name Jasmin. Mrs. Mallige liked Jasmin flower very much and put a little garland of it on her hair everyday. The flower scented full house even it scented the bed also. Mr. Mallige had tough time getting Jasmin flower everyday. There was no dearth of flower garland and money to purchase it, the only thing was he had no time to purchase it. He collected few plants of Jasmin in rainy season and maid planted it on garden. Year by year the plants grew in number and occupied a significant place in the farm. The scent from that those Jasmin plant was so much in summer that a passerby waited there for 2 minutes to enjoy the scent. Jasmin plant therefore was a symbole of love and pride for Mr. Madhavan. Mrs. Madhavan just passed away before 6 months. Mr. Madhavan cherished food cooked by Mrs. Mallige so much that now-a-days he asks maid to cook like his wife. Foreign tour and festival celebration with his wife were very pleasant.

Mr. Madhavan was king of happy times. Before he sleep, he thinks about old days and about his wife and he meets his wife in dream every day. He talk to his wife in dream and thinks about dream all day long till the next dream. On April 25th he was little disturbed when his son told him over phone that he met a venture capitalist who is willing to invest 100 crore (100, 0000000 rupees) initially for developing a software park. Actually any other father would have been very happy with this kind of proposal, but he was not as his son intended to use the farm land for software park. What Mr. Madhavan thought was, he would be robbed of Jasmin plants and memory of his wife. He was not willing to convert Jasmin park to software park for 100 crore rupees, but his son was also adamant on his proposal. He saw many houses were destroyed in Jayanagar to construct malls, show rooms and multiplexes. He never thought to loose his farm and farm house for money. Junior Gururaj thought, it was a best project for him so that he can come back to Bangalore. That day Mr. Madhavan was sad, so felt tired very much by evening and slept early. The same day also he met his wife in dream. His wife asked why he sad and he told everything. Mrs. Jasmin smiled and supported her son as usual. She told if son wants to come back let him come. She felt her husband would not be alone any more. Mr. Madhavan told he did not want to miss Jasmin. Like fore ever, she smiled and replied that he can still live in the same place and build a hanging Jasmin garden on the roof of software park. She also told " I did not study much and you made me to read and get a decent job. Like me there are many Jasmin in Bangalore. Why do not you make them educated and provide them job?" Mr. Madhavan liked the idea very. He was relieved. Mrs. Jasmin left after kissing on his forehead. That night Mr. Madhavan over slept. When he woke up in the morning, he called lawyer Mr. Srinivas Naik to draft a document for creating a Non Governmental Organization to eradicate illiteracy among women and provide them job in Bangalore.

In the same night, Mrs. Mallige met her son and told her to construct multi-floor software park in as less land as possible and to devote some money for afforestation.  Mr. Dravid agreed to invest 5% of the profit of software park for planting trees across Bangalore.

A birth day poem

La nahin sakte chandni ko chand se,
lekin apki labon main muskan la sakta hain.

Chura nahin sakte sitaron ko asman se,
lekin apki ankhon ki ansu chura sakta hain,

Log khehtein jaan denge dosti ki khatir,
lekin hum Zinda rahenge aap ko badhai dene ki washte,

janam din mubarak ho.

Unki yad main

Har khat main unki naam dhundta hun,
toh har chehre pe unki muskan dhundta hun,

Har din main unki parchai dhundta hun,
toh har sapna main unko dhundta hun,

unki mohabbatne diwan banaya mujhe,
toh har pal unko yad karta hun.

The gifts for you!

Why I love you?

A long way to go,
but why legs stop near you?

There are many beautiful things,
but why my eyes stop seeing beyond you?

World is amazing,
but why my heart beat increases when I see you?

There are so many well wisher,
but why do I love you?

Lucky

Lucky is the piano, which you are touching,

Lucky is the flower, that you are smelling,

Lucky is the road, where you are walking,

Lucky is the air, what you are inhaling,

Lucky is the person, whom you are talking,

Lucky is the person, who is writing

For you while thinking about you.

If you want to forget me

Do not run away from me,
you will come closer!

Do not close your eye,
you will see me in dream!

Do not stop talking to me,
you will find me in your heart!

Do not hate me,
you will feel me!

If you want to forget me,
then love me!

My feeling for you

Water cant wash it

Air cant blow it

Fire cant burn it

Stone cant break it

the feeling what I have for you, nobody can steal it!
